Germany Container BBQ Restaurant for Young Boys
The season has ended, and something even more exciting is on the way!
Young Boys' new outdoor area, Medica Logistik Park, is nearing completion with the addition of the Markwasen Grill, a BBQ restaurant in a shipping container, established in early July. Like any football field or sports ground, a converted shipping container made the entire site complete. This container BBQ restaurant, designed and built by the ylroad® Modular team, took six months from concept to reality and now serves as a permanent outdoor dining facility for the boys and spectators.

20ft Container BBQ Restaurant with Rooftop Deck
A Pop-up Container Restaurant with a Commercial Kitchen
| – Designed to Withstand Outdoor Environments This shipping container BBQ restaurant is part of Young Boys' expansion project for their new outdoor sports field, which also includes an alpine hut and a grandstand. It is a 20ft shipping container converted into a pop-up restaurant with a fully equipped commercial kitchen and a rooftop deck. Like most modular buildings, the container is used outdoors as a permanent fixture for the football club. For the best experience, all walls are insulated, and exposed surfaces are coated with waterproof paint. The electric hookup and ventilation are rain-proof, and when the doors and windows are closed, they blend seamlessly into the walls, preventing rain or snow from getting into the container and causing damage. |

– Sturdier & Stronger Structure The top of the shipping container is built into a platform with railings and stairs. This design may not be something new if you're a sports or music fan. The container frame is built using 50*100*2.5mm galvanized steel pipes, so the whole structure has higher load-bearing capacity and hardness. The railing and stairs are made of quality galvanized steel. There is no deformation or denting when dozens of people stand on the platform enjoying juicy BBQ while watching the boys strive for goals. Yes, this platform design allows spectators to see every inch of the Medica Logistik Park field without obstructions. When the game heats up, there are no annoying back-of-head views to contend with. |
| – Perfect Vibe at Nights When night falls, the lively atmosphere on the field remains undiminished. The field is operational at night, and so is the container BBQ restaurant. Therefore, lighting is essential to ensure a well-lit kitchen space for staff and enhance the restaurant's visibility during nighttime hours. In addition to LED light tubes, 8 track lights are installed near the concession window inside the container restaurant for enhanced illumination. Moreover, an eye-catching LED logo sign featuring the Young Boys logo and the restaurant name is mounted on the front railing. This container restaurant promises an electrifying ambiance during nighttime events and parties! |

– Fully Equipped & Functional The interior is standard and includes light-colored, easy-to-clean inner walls, non-slip stainless steel flooring, stainless steel workbenches, sinks, lighting, electrical systems, water supply, and gas pipelines. Young Boys added a bench fridge, a gas grill, an electric fryer, and an exhaust hood, all of which are commercial-grade, and we installed these appliances in the place they specified. The electrical fixture package is EU-compliant, so there is no problem using any German kitchen appliance in the container restaurant. |
